Safety & reporting
Reporting, blocking, appeals, scams and urgent help.
- How do I report someone?Open their profile and tap Report user, or open your chat, tap ⋯ and choose Report. Reports are anonymous, and reporting also blocks the person. If you are in danger, call 911 first.
- Something happened on a date or at an eventYour safety comes first. If you are in danger or hurt, call 911. When you're safe, report the person in the app with the reason Threats or harm when meeting. These reports are among the first our safety team looks at.
- What happens after I report someone?A person on our safety team reviews your report. We aim to review every report within 24 hours, and threats, minors and intimate images come first. The person is never told who reported them.
- How do I block someone?Unmatch or report them. Both block the person: you disappear from each other everywhere in Vennu, and your match and chat end for both of you.
- Report intimate images shared without consent (Take It Down)If an intimate image of you was shared on Vennu without your consent — including images made or edited with AI — use our Take It Down form. You don't need an account or to send us the image. We remove it and identical copies within 48 hours of a valid request.
- Someone is threatening to share my imagesThis is called sextortion, and it's a crime. Don't pay and don't send more images. Stop replying, save the messages, report the person in Vennu, and ask for help. You're not alone and it's not your fault.
- How do I spot a romance scam?Be careful if someone you haven't met asks for money, gift cards or crypto, pushes an 'investment', wants to move to another app right away, or always has a reason not to meet or video chat. Never send money to someone you only know online.
- I think someone on Vennu is under 18Report them right away with the reason Underage. These reports are the first ones our safety team looks at. Vennu is only for adults 18 and older.
- How do I report child sexual exploitation?Report it in the app or email reports@vennuapp.com — no account needed. We have zero tolerance: we remove the content, ban the accounts involved, keep the evidence and report it to NCMEC as the law requires.
- Someone is pretending to be meReport the fake profile in the app with the reason Pretending to be someone else. If you don't use Vennu, email reports@vennuapp.com. You don't need an account.
- Why was my account banned or suspended? We suspend or ban accounts that break our Community Guidelines or Terms. The app shows the reason, until when the suspension lasts or that the ban is permanent, and your account ID. If you think it's a mistake, you can appeal.
- How do I appeal a ban or suspension?Tap Appeal this decision on the suspension screen. It opens an email to support@vennuapp.com with your account ID in the subject. Tell us why you think the decision was wrong. A person reviews every appeal.
- What if someone reports me falsely?Reports are reviewed by our safety team, who look at what was reported and the context. Using reports to harass someone breaks our Terms. If we acted on your account and you think we got it wrong, you can appeal.
- Does Vennu do background checks? No. Vennu does not run criminal background checks or ID checks on members. Photo verification only confirms that a person's photos match a selfie they took.
- Where can I get help right now?If you are in danger, call 911. These free, confidential US services can help 24/7 — you don't need to be a Vennu member to call.
- Information for law enforcementLaw enforcement and government agencies can contact our safety team at reports@vennuapp.com. Include your agency, a case reference and a way to verify your request. Requests for user data beyond a CyberTipline report require valid legal process.
