What happens after I report someone?
A person on our safety team reviews your report. We aim to review every report within 24 hours, and threats, minors and intimate images come first. The person is never told who reported them.
Right after you report
- The match and chat end for both of you, and you no longer see each other.
- You see a short thank-you message.
What we do
- A person reviews the report, including what was reported and the context.
- Depending on what happened, we may remove content, warn the person, suspend them or ban them for good.
- If we ban someone for fraud or for pretending to be someone else, people who messaged them get a safety notice.
Good to know
- To protect everyone's privacy, we usually don't share the outcome with the person who reported.
- If you reported intimate images through Take It Down, we email you when we've acted.
- If you think someone is in danger right now, call 911.
