Why did a match or chat disappear?
A match disappears when one of you unmatched or reported the other, or when an account was deleted, suspended or banned. To protect everyone's privacy, we can't tell you which one it was.
Common reasons
- The other person unmatched you.
- One of you reported the other. A report also ends the match for both.
- The other person deleted their account.
- The other person's account was suspended or banned.
If the chat is still there
When you already exchanged messages, the chat stays readable and shows This account isn’t active. You can't send new messages there.
Good to know
- If something about that person worried you, you can still report them for 30 days: open the Profile tab → gear icon → FAQ & contact → Safety Center → Report someone you're no longer matched with.
- If someone you chatted with is banned for fraud or for pretending to be someone else, you may get a safety notice from us.
