How do I redeem a VIP deal?

Steps

1. At the venue, open the place or event in Vennu and tap its deal.
2. Tap Show VIP pass. Your Vennu Pass opens with a big QR code. Below it are your photo, your first name, the deal, the venue and the deal's conditions. The staff scan the QR code with their phone camera. They don't need an app. As soon as they've checked it, your screen turns green and shows Checked with the time.
3. If the venue has a printed Vennu code, you can scan it instead: use your phone camera or tap Scan code under Show VIP pass. You go straight to a green Valid screen with your photo and name, the deal, the venue, when you scanned with a timer counting up, and where your phone was. Show it to the staff. They don't need to scan anything. If they want to check it on their phone, tap Show your VIP pass.
4. Deals with a code or a link are booked online:
   • A code — show it or enter it at checkout. Tap Copy code to copy it.
   • Book online — opens the booking page with your code already applied, or copies the code first so you can paste it at checkout. There is no pass to show and no Vennu code to scan.

Good to know

• A deal is redeemed only when the staff check your pass or when you scan the Vennu code. Opening the pass alone redeems nothing.
• Vennu doesn't limit how often you redeem a deal. The venue's conditions on the deal still apply.
• The code on your Vennu Pass changes every minute, so a screenshot stops working after 5 minutes. If your phone is offline, the code turns gray. Connect to the internet to get a new one.
• If you already allow Vennu to use your location, the staff page also shows whether your phone was at the venue. Vennu never asks for it just for the pass, and it keeps only the distance, not your location.
• From the second time on the same day, the screen you show the staff says that you've redeemed the deal before.
• If you scan more than once, for example once at home to try it, the screen lists each scan under Scans today with its time and where your phone was: At the venue, a distance like Under 0.7 mi away, or Location not shared. Scans within 5 minutes count as one redeemed deal.
• If a Vennu code opens Safari instead of the app on your iPhone, you once chose to open these links in Safari. Tap Already have Vennu? Open in Vennu on the page. To switch back for good, touch and hold a Vennu link and choose Open in Vennu.
• You can also scan the printed code with Scan VIP deal QR code under your Vennu Pass. If the venue has one deal, it's redeemed right away. With several deals, you pick one. If the deal is for guests 21 and older and you're under 21, Vennu tells you so.
• Tap Done to close the screen. If it was open for a minute or more, or the timer ran out, we ask Did the deal work? once.
• The next time you open Vennu, we ask once how your visit was. If you don't open the app, you get one reminder the next day at noon. See How ratings work.
