How do I leave or delete a group?
Open your group, tap Edit group, then Leave group. You also leave the group's chats. When the last member leaves, the group closes and its chats stay readable for the other groups for 90 days.
Leave a group
- Open the Profile tab → Your groups → your group.
- Tap Edit group, then Leave group.
- Confirm with Leave. The sheet tells you how many chats of this group you leave with it.
Leave only one group chat
In the group chat, open the menu and tap Leave chat. Only you leave that conversation; your group stays matched.
Good to know
- When you leave a group, you also leave all of its group chats. The others see "
left the group" and keep the messages. - Any member can remove another member: in Edit group, tap the trash icon on their photo and confirm with Remove. The person leaves the group's chats too and gets a notification. They can join again with a new invite link.
- When the last member leaves, the group closes. Its chats stay readable for the other groups for 90 days, but no one can send new messages. After that, the chats are deleted. A group that never matched is deleted.
- If we close a group, its chats close the same way and every member gets a notification.
