How do I manage notifications?
In the app: Profile tab → gear icon → Notifications. Turn each kind of push notification and email on or off.
Push notifications
You can turn these on or off:
- Messages
- Matches
- Likes
- Group activity
- Reminders
- Tips & new features — these also need News, events & offers turned on under Privacy.
Turn these emails on or off:
- Reminders
- Tips & new features — these also need News, events & offers turned on under Privacy.
They go to your confirmed email. The unsubscribe link in any of these emails turns them all off. Turn one back on here to get it again.
Good to know
- Reminders also covers the one reminder that asks how a place or event was. Without notifications for Vennu, that reminder comes by email instead, never both. How ratings work
- Safety, verification and event updates are always sent. Login codes and safety alerts by email are always sent too, even after you unsubscribe.
- Notifications arrive right away, day or night. Only birthday offers, event and city news, tips, reminders and weekly summaries that would arrive between 10 pm and 8 am your time wait until morning. For quiet nights, use Focus or Do Not Disturb on your phone.
- Also check that notifications for Vennu are allowed in your phone's settings.
- To hide names and message text on your lock screen, turn off previews for Vennu in your phone's notification settings.
