How does photo verification work?

You take a selfie copying a pose we show you. A person on our team compares it with your profile photos. If they match, you get a verified badge. Your selfie is private and deleted after the decision.

Steps

  1. Open the Profile tab, then tap the pencil icon for Edit profile.
  2. Tap Verify your profile, then Get verified.
  3. If your account has no confirmed phone number yet, you'll confirm one first.
  4. Copy the pose on screen and take a selfie with your camera.
  5. Tap Submit for review. You'll see Verification in review until a person has checked it.

Good to know

  • Verification is free.
  • The selfie is only used for this check. Other members never see it. We don't use face recognition.
  • We delete the selfie once a decision is made, and never later than 30 days after it.
  • If your photos change a lot, we may ask you to verify again.
  • A verified badge means the photos match the person who took the selfie. It is not an ID check or a background check. Read more.
