How do venue staff check a Vennu Pass?

Steps

1. Ask the member to open their Vennu Pass in the app.
2. Point your phone camera at the QR code and open the link. You don't need the Vennu app or a login.
3. Read the band at the top of the page:
   • Valid · VIP member — compare the first name and photo with the person in front of you, then give the deal shown on the page.
   • Expired — ask for a fresh code — the code is older than 2 minutes. Ask the member to open the pass again and scan the new code.
   • Not valid — the code doesn't belong to an active VIP membership. Do not give the deal.
   • Scan again — the check on this page is over a minute old. Scan the member's code again.
   • Not checked — the page couldn't reach Vennu, so nothing was checked. Scan the code again in a moment. Do not give the deal until the band says Valid.

Good to know

• The code on the pass changes every minute and stops working after 2 minutes. A screenshot or a forwarded link stops working fast.
• The clock on the page keeps ticking. If it stands still, you're looking at a screenshot.
• Checked at shows when the pass was checked. Compare it with your own time: a page with an older time is an old check, even if the clock ticks. After about a minute and a half the page switches to Scan again by itself.
• At and a place name means the member's phone was within 200 m of that place when the code was made. Make sure the place is your venue. Not near means it was farther away. With no location line, the phone didn't share its location, which is allowed. Location tells you where the phone was, not who is holding it, so always compare the name and photo.
• Scanned 2× today means this member's pass was already checked here today.
• No deal available for this member right now means the deal isn't running at this time. Do not give it.
• For a 21+ deal, check ID before serving alcohol.
• If your venue has a printed Vennu code, members can scan that instead. Both ways count as a redeemed deal.
